BS Economics 

    • Duration: 4 Years (8 Semesters)
    • Teaching System: Semester System

Departmental Eligibility Criteria for BS Economics:

Following candidates can apply for admission in BS (Hons) Economics who have:

  1. Passed Intermediate examination with subject Economics of at least 100 marks (candidate must have secured minimum 50% marks in subject Economics)
    • Or Passed F.Sc (Pre-engineering) examination (candidate must have secured minimum 60% marks in subject Mathematics)
    • Or Passed Intermediate examination with subject Statistics or Mathematics of at least 200 marks (candidate must have secured minimum 60% marks in subject Statistics and Mathematics)
    • Or Passed Intermediate examination with overall 80% marks.
  2. The candidates who have studied Mathematics or Statistics of 200 marks along with Economics of 200 marks will be given extra 5 marks for each subject.

Departmental Eligibility Criteria for M.Sc. Economics:

Those candidates can apply for admission in M.Sc Economics who have:

  1. Passed B.Sc./B.A/B.Com examination with Economics of at least 200 marks (candidate must have secured minimum 50% marks in subject Economics in case of B.A/B.Sc and 60% in case of B.Com)
  2. Mathematics and Statistics of 200 marks will be considered as preferred subject and candidate will be given extra 20 marks for each.

MS Economics

Departmental Eligibility Criteria for MS Economics:

Admission in MS Economics shall be made on the basis of criteria given below.

  1. Sixteen years of schooling or 4-year education (130 credit hours) after HSSC/F.A./F.SC/Grade 12 equivalent in the field of economics.
  2. Minimum 45% marks in previous degree in case of annual system and 2.5 CGPA in case of semester program.
  3. Minimum 50% marks in the GAT- General conducted by National Testing Service or in the entry test conducted by Economics Department of GCWUS, Sialkot.
  4. Minimum 50% marks in the interview conducted by Economics Department of GCWU, Sialkot.

  • For admission in the PhD in Economics Program minimum CGPA 3.0 (out of 4.0 in the semester system) or first division (in annual system) in M.Phil/M.S. Economics or Equivalent is required.
