Sample Analysis Funding Opportunity – Data Repository of Scientific Instrumentation (DRSI) | PCSIR

The Pakistan Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (PCSIR), Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of Pakistan, announces financial support for instrumental access and sample analysis for M.Sc., MS, M.Phil., Ph.D. students and researchers.

The initiative provides the scientific community access to sophisticated research equipment and analytical facilities available at public and private sector laboratories. Students and researchers enrolled with public-sector research institutions, universities, R&D organizations and strategic research centres of Pakistan may apply subject to the prescribed eligibility requirements.

Financial Support Available

Financial Support for Students: Up to PKR 500,000 for sample analysis
Financial Support for Research Supervisors: Up to PKR 1,000,000 for sample analysis

Eligible Research Areas

Eligible students and researchers may avail analytical facilities from public/private sector laboratories in the following areas:

✓ Chemical Sciences
✓ Biological Sciences
✓ Physical Sciences
✓ Agricultural Sciences

Eligibility Criteria

M.Sc., MS, M.Phil. and Ph.D. students/researchers enrolled with public-sector research institutions, universities, R&D organizations and strategic research centres of Pakistan are eligible to apply. The application must be endorsed by the – Research Supervisor, Head of Department and Director.

Required Documents

  • Summary / description of research proposal
  • Copy of approval of Research Synopsis / Proposal
  • Consent Letter of Service Provider
  • Quotation from the Service Provider
  • Brief profile of Research Supervisor
  • Endorsement by the Research Supervisor, Head of Department
    and Director in the appropriate section of the prescribed
    application form
Important:
The application should be submitted at least 8 weeks prior to the proposed sample analysis.

How to Apply: Applicants should submit the prescribed Requisition Form along with the required supporting documents to PCSIR.

  1. Submit the completed Requisition Form and supporting documents.
  2. Applications will be evaluated by the Project Management Committee at PCSIR.
  3. The Committee’s decision will be communicated to the applicant.
  4. PCSIR will issue an award letter for approved applications.
  5. After receiving the award letter, samples may be sent to the approved service provider for analysis.
  6. The service provider will conduct the analysis and submit the payment claim to PCSIR.
  7. The applicant will submit a satisfactory report duly attested by the Research Supervisor.

Payment & Sample Analysis

The service provider will submit the payment claim to PCSIR along with duly verified:

  • Original Invoice
  • Results Acceptance Voucher
  • Copy of Results

PCSIR will release the approved sample analysis cost to the service provider accordingly.
