1:_ Pakistan Agricultural Research Council

The Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC) and Government College Women University Sialkot (GCWUS) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for cooperation to strengthen scientific infrastructure.The MoU was signed by PARC Secretary Dr. Munir Ahmad and GCWUS Vice Chancellor Dr. Farhat Saleemi on behalf of their respective organizations. The signing ceremony was witnessed by PARC Chairman Dr. Iftikhar Ahmad; PIASA Registrar Dr. Ehsan Akhtar; and PARC Directors Sardar Ghulam Mustafa, Asif Masood, Dr. Falk Naz, Dr. Khalid Farooq and Dr. Zarrin Fatima Rizvi Director ORIC GCWUS.
According to the MoU, both the organizations would pursue programmes of scientific, technical and academic collaboration for the exchange of ideas, skills and techniques on problems of national interest. They would jointly supervise MS and PhD scholars, exchange and train faculty, students and supervisors and would exchange technical personnel and material. The MoU envisages joint and coordinated scientific research and technological development programmes in selected areas besides holding of joint conferences, seminars, symposia and workshops at national and international level. The two organizations would have access to each other’s knowledge, data, library and labs and would also share and exchange scientific information, research materials and internships. The MoU further states that internees of GCWU would be facilitated at PARC laboratories for their research projects while GCWU would facilitate PARC scientists on research activities in Sialkot. Moreover, both the organizations would disseminate results of studies through joint publications.

Prod Dr. Shaid, Dr. Vice chancellor AIOU and Dr. Farhat Saleemi Vice Chancellor GCWU Sialkot are exchanging the file after signing MoU for Scientific, Technical and Academic Collaboration, Dr. Zarrin Fatima Rizvi (Director ORIC) of GCWU Sialkot and Prof Dr. Zafar Illyas chairman Physics Department and Registrar are witnessed the ceremony.
The Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) will soon set up an ‘entrepreneurship center’ on its main campus to help guide students undertake business ventures.
The center will also encourage young researchers to come up with innovative ideas for the development of industrial sector as well as set up their own businesses, said AIOU Vice-Chancellor Prof Shahid Siddiqui while signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Government College Women University Sialkot Vice-Chancellor Dr. Farhat Saleemi.
“It is the responsibility of universities to ensure application of the gained knowledge and academic output for the betterment of society,” Dr. Siddiqui said adding that the AIOU will welcome other institutions for joint collaboration to promote research in the country.
Under the MoU, the two universities will collaborate in multiple areas of research and help each other to strengthen their faculties. The two varsities will also work jointly to find out indigenous solution to the industrial development.
Students of the two universities will be allowed to use their respective labs, libraries and other academic infrastructure to boost their knowledge and expertise in relevant fields.

3:_ Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University, Peshawar

Prof. Dr. Razia Sultana, Vice Chancellor, Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University and Prof Dr. Farhat Saleemi GC Women University, Sialkotsigned MoU on August 27, 2015. Mr. Parvez Khattak, Chief Minister, KPK graced the occasion as ChiefGuest. Mr. Mushtaq Ghani, Minister for Higher Education was also present on the occasion.
The main aim of the consortium was the promotion of education and inculcation of the research cultureamong female students. The main areas of the MoU were.

  1. Joint Research collaborations and joint publications of scientific papers and educationalmaterials resulting from the collaboration within program cooperation.
  2. Joint courses, graduate and undergraduate student mobility such as internships and fellowships.
  3. Exchange of Faculty, trainees and staff as appropriate.
  4. Participation in, and co-hosting of lectures, meetings, seminars, symposia and conferences.
  5. Exchange of materials, publications and other information, within limits of legal rules and regulations.
  6. Joint application for funding for collaborative projects from relevant funding agencies.
  7. Collaboration in other areas that foster research and educational cooperation.

On the occasion, while addressing the audience, Prof. Dr. Razia Sultana, Vice Chancellor, SBBWUP declared the consortium of Women Universities as a milestone. She quoted that “the universities are meant to provide leadership opportunities to the students. They are the torch bearers who enlighten the society with knowledge”. She paid gratitude to all the Vice Chancellors who showed deep interest in the promotion of education by joining hands and by showing their presence in true spirit with the university on the event and the Chief Minister who accepted the invitation and graced the occasion by his presence. She further declared that “our objective is to produce knowledge through research, to train the girls to meet competitive needs of the market and to mark their own identity in the community”. She further said that “the Research culture has already been introduced and strategies are being devised for its strengthening”. She also stressed on self-employment of the graduates. According to her, “It’s the responsibility of an institution to train its graduates for self-employment. They should be provided opportunities, motivation and sincere leadership”. Moreover, she stressed upon teamwork. According to her, it is the dire need of our society to work together as a team for the betterment and development of our society at large.

4:_ Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI)

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) and Govt. College Women University Sialkot at the premises of the SCCI. Sialkot, September 22, 2015: The signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry and GC Women University, Sialkot through Prof. Dr. Farhat Saleemi (Vice chancellor GC Women University Sialkot), Mr. Fazal Jilani (President Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry), Dr. Zarrin Fatima Rizvi (Director ORIC GC Women University Sialkot) Ms. Shbeena Gilani (Chairperson SCCI). Mr. Fazal Jilani welcomed Prof. Dr. Farhat Saleemi and thanked for her support for such linkage.
The purpose of doing these MoU is to promote academia-industry linkages and to conduct joint research activities that would facilitate the advancement and innovation in industries because bridges needed to be built to connect universities with clusters of industries to meet the emerging needs of society. This MoU will help in conceptualization and conversion of innovative ideas into technologically reliable economic opportunities. The linkage over 5 years would lead to collaboration in joint projects. The linkage is a significant step taken by GC Women University Sialkot in promoting higher education through external linkages. The worthy Vice chancellor Prof Dr. Saleemi briefly introduces the objective and purpose of this MOU. The main points agreed in this MOU are:

  1. Holding of mutually agreed joint workshops, seminars and similar events by “the Parties”.
  2. Other mutually agreed issues to be decided by “the Parties”.
  3. To share latest research terminologies in the field with each other.
  4. Parties are agreed that in the view of growing needs of R&D, enhancing the domestic & International competitiveness, dissemination of information & capacity building of upcoming entrepreneurs in the field of information technology.
  5. The parties shall convene meetings/conferences /discussions when required in order it effectively implement the directives of this memorandum at venues to be mutually agreed between the parties.
  6. Mutual sharing and exchange of scientific information, research materials and internships, and
  7. Research Grant (funds) for selected industrial based project.

Prof Dr. Farhat Saleemi, Vice Chancellor, GC Women University Sialkot said that the strong partnership between industry and academia is essential to ensure that the research and development activities in universities are oriented towards the demand of industry. She said the countries having higher level of industry-academia linkages achieved higher productivity and Pakistan will have to follow this model to achieve fast economic growth.

5:_ Khawaja Muhammad Safdar Medical College Sialkot

Memorandum of understanding signed between GC Woman University Sialkot and Khawaja Muhammad Safdar medical college Sialkot on joint cooperation to provide quality education and research opportunities to the students of both institutions.
The MOU was signed by worthy Vice chancellor GCWU Sialkot Prof Dr. Farhat Saleemi and respected Principle Khawaja Safdar Medical College Prof Dr. Zafar Ali Choudary.Prof Dr. Zafar Chaudary along with other faculty members including Dr. OWAIS (Director finance), Dr. Khalid Sulehri (Former principle KMSMC), Mr. Usman Younas (Admin officer) were received by worthy Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Farhat Saleemi, Dr. Zarrin Fatima Rizvi (Director ORIC), Mrs. Naila Arshad (Director QEC), Mrs. Khalida Gillani (HOD Islamiat) , Dr. Maryam Afghani (Incharge health center) , Ms. Zaib un Nisa (Media coordinator ORIC, Lecturer), Dr. Hira (Chemistry) Ms. Aliza (Computer Science), Ms. Gulzaib (economics).
After recitation Holy Quran by Ms. Asma Nawaz, Dr. Zarrin Fatima Rizvi formally started the event, she welcomed all honorable guests.
Vice chancellor Prof Dr. Farhat Saleemi thanked to the principle KMSMC Prof Dr. Zafar Ali Chaudary for accepting her invitation and visiting the university.
She further added “GCWUS is newly established institute and we seek help, support and collaboration from well-established institute not only from Sialkot but also from all over the Pakistan. She shared her experience work and efforts she made to flourish the established LCWU Lahore in past. Now being Vice Chancellor of GCWUS she is again committed to make the institute source of quality education and research. She pointed out that availability of funds is necessary for rapid progress.”
Prof Dr. Zafar said “strenuous effort has to be made to develop any newly established institute. This MoU will prove beneficial not only for student of both institute but also for whole community.”
Both institute focused on the collaboration at faculty and student level to share knowledge, expertise, and communication skills. MoU will enable the two institutes to cooperate in areas such as exchange of visits of students and faculty members, training programs and scientific research.

6:_ MoU between Punjab Emergency Services Rescue 1122 and GCWUS

 

Wednesday 20th April, 2016
In order to establish mutual collaboration between the Educational Institutions and the Rescue 1122, Punjab Emergency Services Rescue 1122, Sialkot and GC Women University, Sialkot endorses this Memorandum of Understanding and mutually agreed to share knowledge and experience. The Memorandum was signed on 20th April, 2016 by the worthy Vice Chancellor Dr. Farhat Saleemi for and on behalf of GC Women University Sialkot and Syed Kamal Abid, District Emergency Officer for and on behalf of Punjab Emergency Service, Rescue 1122, and Sialkot. Mrs. Azra Sabtain Bukhari (Incharge of SSIO) and Muhammad Jamil Janjua (member of Rescue 1122) witnessed the ceremony.
A close and meaningful cooperation between Rescue 1122 and GC University would encourage quick and correct response from the students in the university in case of any emergency, enhance level of awareness of teachers/students in particular and their associated community in general, this will lead to community safety and especially to formulate effective emergency response system. This Memorandum will remain effective for Ten years after it is signed in by both of the parties and will be extendable by the expiration of the tenure.

7:_ MoU between Seerat Study Centre and GCWUS

 

2nd September, 2016
The Memorandum of Understanding was entered into by and between Seerat Study Centre (SSC), Sialkot and GC Women University, Sialkot. Both parties recognizing that academic collaboration between SSC and GCWUS will be useful for the advancement of research and knowledge in the fields of Islamic History, Islamic Banking, Seerat-un-Nabi (PBUH) and Benefits of implementation of Islamic Principals in the society or other research areas in the scope of both the parties that will bring mutual benefit.
The MoU was signed by the worthy Vice Chancellor Dr. Farhat Saleemi for and on behalf of GC Women University Sialkot, Khawaja Masood Akhtar (Senior Vice Chairman) and on behalf of Seerat Study Centre, Dr. Asif Tufail (Chairman Seerat Study Center, District Coordination Officer Sialkot).Prof. Dr. Haris Rashid (Dean of Natural Sciences) witnessed the MoU. This memorandum will be effective for a period of five years from the date of final signature.

8:_ Pakistan Study Center Punjab University

The MoU was signed by Director Pakistan Study Centre, Prof. Dr. Massarrat Abid and Mrs. Azra Sabtain Bukhari, Head of Department Political Science, GCWUS on behalf of their respective institutes. The signing ceremony was witnessed by Dr. Ahmad Ejaz, Assistant Prof. Pakistan Study Centre, Director ORIC, Dr. Zarrin Fatima Rizvi, GCWUS and Ms. Hifza Yaqub, Lecturer Political Science Department, GCWUS.
According to the MoU, each institution would offer to the other opportunities for joint educational and research activities, exchange of faculty and advance graduate students for advance research, lectures, and discussions; Participation and collaboration in seminars, conferences, workshops, table talks and dialogues on contemporary issues that will cultivate a concerted relationship among the institutes which will be helpful in providing viable solutions for current national issues.
Under this MoU, both institutes would have access to each other’s libraries, books, data and publications. And would also share and exchange research information and material. Both institutes agreed to provide research supervisors and co-supervisors for MPhil program and advance levels of studies.
Noting the importance of women education in the national development and the value of national collaboration in the academic and research area, this Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) would fullfil the dire need of advance research relationships for the Department of Political Science GCWUS, which aims to achieve assured quality of research through different inter departmental activities and collaborations.
