Women and girls are half of the globe’s population and unless efforts are directed at their empowerment, it will simply not be possible to envision a prosperous society. It is evident that empowering women benefit countries overall and not just women. Women empowerment requires steps involving the resources, agency and achievements of girls and women of all ages. In addition to the intrinsic moral value of gender equality, empowerment of girls and women may also result in better development and demographic outcomes. Therefore, to promote gender equality in society, GC Women University Sialkot in collaboration with Government of Punjab, Women Development Department (WDD) Punjab has established Women Development Center (WDC) at Government College Women University Sialkot. A memorandum of understanding was signed on 31 st January 2022.
