Career Brief:

I am Dr Muhammad Sabboor Husaain. I am basically from a village called Narala Kalan (now I-8 Sector of Islamabad). I got my early education from Rawalpindi, Masters in English Language, Literature and Applied Linguistics from National Institute of Modern Languages, Islamabad, affiliated with Quid-i-Azam University, Islamabad. I hold PhD (Applied Linguistics) from National University of Modern Languages, Islamabad, with the thesis, entitled, “Role of Affective Filter in Teaching English to Adult Learners in Pakistan”. Quite recently, we have come back from Saudi Arabia after serving at Qassim University for almost seven years. By the grace of God Almighty, we (my wife and I) earned a great name for our homeland by contributing there both academically and administratively in different capacities. Following are the highlights of my professional career spanning for almost twenty-two years—1998-2020:

Right after doing Masters in 1998, I started teaching at NIML as a Part Time Teacher. Soon I was selected at Army Burn Hall College as Lecturer in English on regular basis. After a few months of teaching there, I got into Punjab Government Education Department as a Lecturer in English through PPSC and I started my regular government job in May 1999 posted at Govt. Sir Syed College, Katas, Chakwal. In Feb. 2001, I got transferred to Govt. Gordon College, Rawalpindi. From here, I applied and got selected through proper channel for the post of Lecturer in National University of Modern Languages. I taught English to Certificate, Diploma and BML students there. It was in June 2005 that I was selected as Assistant Professor of English (BS-18) through FPSC. I was the youngest Assistant Professors in Federal Government Education Department. I attended and participated in numerous local and international conferences and workshops apart from the publications in the reputed journals and two training courses viz., ICT Training Course, South Korea and TEYL, University of Maryland, Baltimore County, USA. In December 2011, my wife and I joined Qassim University, Saudi Arabia. We spent almost 7 years there. I was appointed the Branch Coordinator and was given the task to establish a new boys’ branch in the city of Unaiza, Qassim, KSA. Within three years, the branch became the best of all Qassim University branches and started progressing by leaps and bounds. After the completion of my PhD in 2015, I was appointed the Head of the English Language Research Team. I have 15 publications to my credit so far, and four have been submitted and will soon be published. In addition, I represented Qassim University in three very important international conferences, two in Riyadh and one in Jeddah and presented my research papers there. Moreover, I also attended an advanced training program, IELTS Teacher Training Workshop, organized by British Council, KSA.

After coming back from Saudi Arabia and joining GC Women University, Sialkot on 10th of September, 2018, I hope to make use of all my trainings, experience and knowledge in the best possible way in my own country now with a renewed vigor and patriotic passion.
