Dr. Mehmooda Munazir did her Ph.D. in Botany from Pir Mehr Ali Shah-Arid Agriculture University, Rawalpindi. She completed her Ph.D. under M.Phil. leading to a Ph.D. program, fully sponsored by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan. During her Ph.D., she visited the Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, King’s College London, United Kingdom under the International Research Support Initiative Program (IRSIP) of the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan. She joined Government College Women University, Sialkot as an Assistant Professor under the Interim Placement of Fresh PhDs Program in August 2015. Then she joined GCWUS as Assistant Professor on Tenure Track System. She has served GCWUS as Manger-ORIC (Office of Research Innovation and Commercialization) and Deputy Director-Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC). She has published around twenty research articles in various HEC-approved journals. She has supervised a total of eleven MS research students. She has participated in various National and International conferences and attended several workshops and seminars. She has a special interest in unveiling the medicinal properties of plants with special emphasis on the antimicrobial and antioxidant activities of plants. She is currently taking a special interest in studying the effect of environmental pollutants on the growth and development of edible plants. She has served as a pioneer to establish and strengthen the nascent women university in Sialkot.
