The Department of Botany organized a one-day seminar, “Research and Publication Ethics in Science on November 7th, 2023. Eminent speakers and active audience members, including faculty members and MS and Ph.D. scholars, contributed to the event focused on increasing understanding of ethical considerations in scientific research and publication.
Dr. Sajjad Hyder, the first speaker, provided a comprehensive overview of research and publication ethics. His presentation covered the fundamental principles and ethical guidelines that researchers should follow throughout their scientific journey. Following Dr. Hyder
enlightening talk, the second speaker, Dr. Noreen Khalid, addressed the topic of Article Retraction.This lecture shed light on the circumstances under which retractions may occur and the ethical considerations surrounding this process. The interactive Q&A; session added to the depth of the seminar. In closing, Worthy Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Zarrin Fatima Rizvi expressed her appreciation for the insightful presentations and emphasized the importance of incorporating such sessions into the department’s ongoing research activities.
