The Irtiqa Mathematical Society organized the Departmental Mathematical Contest. The event included a Quiz Competition and a Poster Competition, with enthusiastic participation from over 350 students across various semesters of the Department of Mathematics, GCWUS.
Poster Competition
The Poster Competition, aimed at enhancing research and communication skills, took place at Munim-ud-din Hall (Auditorium). Students created posters on topics such as Tiling Theory, The Concept of Infinity, Composites and Primes, and Female Mathematicians. The competition featured vibrant and engaging presentations, judged by Dr. Hira Tariq and Dr. Samia Ashraf, both Assistant Professors.

• 2nd Position: 1st Semester
Quiz Competition
The Quiz Competition began with a spiritual opening, including a recitation of the Holy Quran and a Naat-e-Rasool (SAW). It featured two rounds:
1. Written Quiz: Over 350 students participated, with the top 15 advancing.
2. Oral Quiz: The finalists competed in teams, and individual questions were posed to identify the top performers.
Judges for the Quiz Competition included Dr. Hira Tariq, Ms. Tayaba Akhtar, and Ms. Ayesha Iftikhar.
• 1st Position: Team 7th A
• 2nd Position: Team 7th B
Results and Closing
The results were announced in Munim-ud-din Hall, followed by an acknowledgment of participants’ efforts. Certificates were awarded to the top winners, and the event concluded with appreciation from faculty members, led by Dr. Hira Tariq (Incharge department of Mathematics), for the excellent organization by the Irtiqa Mathematical Society.
This event provided a platform for students to showcase their mathematical talents, develop critical skills, and gain valuable experience in an engaging and supportive environment.
