The worthy Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Farhat Saleemi was welcomed by the students of G.C Women University Sialkot, who presented her a flower bouqet. After her arrival all the faculty members raised from their seats for National Anthem.
The program started officially with the recitation of Holy Quran followed by Hadees-e-Nabvi and Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool (P.B.U.H)

After that the Chief guest Professor Mazhar Moin, Ex-Principal Punjab University Oriental College, Dr. Haris Rasheed (Dean of Natural Sciences) Dr.Hafiz Khalil (Dean of Social Sciences) and Professor Khadija-Tul-Kubra(HOD) Botany were all invited on stage accompanied by the Worthy Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Farhat Saleemi.

       
Professor Mazhar Moin, the author of several Arabic books was requested to express his views regarding Teacher’s Day. He said that Allah Almighty declares himself as a “Moalim” in the initial verses of Holy Quran. Our Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (P.B.U.H) declared himself as a “Moalim for humanity”, thus highlighting the importance of the teacher in Islam. He also said that all prophet has been sent down on earth as a teacher as knowledge and not property or riches was their legacy.

He also said that nations led by good teachers can never be destroyed and students can only succeed in life by respecting their teachers.

      
Madam Vice chancellor was then requested to express her views regarding teacher’s Day. she said that it is a two-way phenomenon. Teachers ought to fulfill their duties honestly and students should be present in their classes both mentally and physically. she also discussed the progress of G.C.W.U Sialkot which is increasing in its number of student’s applicants every passing year, 18000 candidates against 1400 seats in 2017.
She also credited and appreciated the role of teachers for the sublimation of the rank of university amongst the best-known Universities of Pakistan.

Distribution of certificates started by presenting the Vice Chancellor with a “certificate of Appreciation” for her contribution and services towards the institute.

Dr. Adeel from Environmental Sciences has honored a certificate for getting a Research Award in China.
Ms. Bakhtawar Khan, Ms. Fouzia Naveed Department of Sociology and Ms. Tajalli Fatima Dept. of BBA have honored certificates for presenting best research work in the University of Malaysia.

Teachers from different departments were awarded certificates for “Faculty Professional Development Training”. Their trainers Zohra Qadeer (Dept. of Botany) and Safoora Batool Syed (Dept. of English) were presented shields.
Several faculty members were given certificates for I.T training program arranged by Quality Enhancement Cell (Q.E.C)
