CELEBRATION OF DENGUE DAY 2nd JULY, 2022
The Anti-dengue Management Committee of GCWUS has organized some anti-dengue activities as directed by the Government of Punjab. Detail of these activities with pictures are below:
A Walk and awareness seminar on ‘CELEBRATION OF DENGUE DAY 2nd JULY, 2022’ was organized by the Anti-dengue Management Committee of GCWUS for the purpose of Awareness of Dengue Fever amongst common people.
Dr. Moazama Batool, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Zoology, served as Convener of the Anti-dengue Committee while, Prof. Dr. Rukhsana Kousar, Vice Chancellor, GC Women University, Sialkot was the Chief Guest of said program.
Dr. Moazama Batool, Convener of the Anti-dengue Committee moderate the program & Dr. Sajida Mushtaq, Assistant Professor from the Department of Zoology delivered an awareness lecture on ‘Dengue Prevention and control’. In her lecture, she emphasized the importance of cleanliness and gave a presentation on various aspects of dengue prevention and control. All teaching and non-teaching staff, admin staff, and MS students of the GC Women University, Sialkot were the participants in this seminar. A Dengue awareness documentary video by Punjab Government was also played in the seminar hall. Dr. Rumeesha Amjad also gives awareness about patient treatments and medication in health sessions.
Dengue Awareness Pamphlets & Booklets were distributed among the students and faculty members for knowledge about the prevention and control of dengue during the seminar.
At the end of the seminar Dr. M. Afzal Butt, Dean of Social Sciences conclude the seminar and appreciated the invited speakers and participants. At the end of the seminar, a walk was headed to the University auditorium, progressing to the other departments of the university, and ending at University’s main gate. Respected Deans, Directors, HODs, faculty members, and students of the University joined the walk. The committee covered the whole program with pictorial evidence and pictures were uploaded to the Higher Education Department’s PITB dashboard.
Flexes were also displayed at different sites of the university regarding the dengue awareness campaign. Daily-based dengue activities with inspection of rooftops and cleanliness of office premises and removal of all potential breeding sites of Aedes Mosquitoes.
