  • Revision of curriculum of BS Statistics for 2017 and onwards.
  • Courses Rearrangement for BS program
  • Addition of courses in the list of general and elective courses.

Proceedings:

The meeting was started with the name of Almighty Allah, then Miss Mahwish Rabia, Incahrge Department of Statistics briefed the house about the agenda points of Board of study meeting and explained the purpose of the meeting.

Following points were discussed at the meeting :

  • Members approval is required about the addition of general and elective courses in the previous list of courses.
  • The members also discussed the research project for the final semester students.
  • The members also discussed that practicals should be included in the major courses.
  • The members discussed that Macro and Microeconomics courses should be included in the first two semesters.
  • The members also discussed that a course on teaching strategies should be taught in this program.
  • The members also discussed that course titles should be improved.

Decisions:

After detailed discussion, the members unanimously approved the following points:

  • The experts recommended some general courses i.e., Macro Economics and Micro Economics as supportive courses for Mathematical Economics I and Mathematical economics II.
  • The experts also suggested that applied nature assignments should be given to the students so that they can apply statistics to real-life problems.
  • The experts suggested that the reference books and course outlines should be updated and revised in the curriculum according to the Pakistan and world best universities BS program curriculum.
  • Experts also suggested that Statistics related packages (SPSS, R-Language, Minitab) should teach to students for improving their research skills.
  • Experts suggested that the Statistical packages course should teach in the 5th semester.
  • Experts also suggest that Statistical Packages course should split into two courses i.e. SPSS+Minitab and R-Language.
  • Experts suggested that Course titles should be changed and improvised.
    The meeting was ended in a pleasant atmosphere.
