A presentation competition was arranged and organized by intermediate department and Botany department for the students of 2nd Year and BS 3rd semester on 15th December 2020. All participants presented on various topics from intermediate Biology and BS 3rd semester. A chief theme among these presentations was COVID-19: its impacts, precautions and a way forward. Presentations were judged by members of Intermediate faculty – Ms. Insa Naeem and Ms. Eesha Sajid and BS faculty Ms. Aeysha Islam. This competition was an admirable idea on the part of Ms. Adeela which both excited and inspired the students suffering from lethargic effects of lockdown. Presentations given in the event depicted the competitors’ efforts and interests. In continuation of the Covid-19 Awareness Drive, 1 Day online exhibition with the theme “Science Fair; “Stronger the immunity, weaker the corona†was organized on 23rd December 2020 with the collaboration of Botany and Intermediate departments of Govt. College Women University Sialkot. The Chief Guest of the competition was Respected Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Rukhsana Kausar Govt. College Women University Sialkot. The event was attended by students of both departments as well as esteemed Vice Chancellor and worthy faculty members. Candidates who had qualified the initial round of the said competition, arranged on 15th December 2020, were the presenters in the final round. Students of both departments gave equally engaging and well researched presentations chiefly revolving around various aspects of Covid-19, its precautions and way forward from this scenario. Among the keynote speakers were worthy Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Rukhsana Kausar, Dr. Khizar Hayat and Dr. Audil Rashid. The worthy Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Rukhsana Kausar appreciated the aptitude and potential of all Students. She said the students covered all the subjects from psychological, depression, lock down to immunity and overall, all the subjects of Corona. She also said that lock down has left many negative effects, but all the students should face it with courage and strength. Professor Dr. Audil Rasheed from University of Gujrat said that Covid-19 has affected the whole world. We, being teachers, have the responsibility that we treat students with love, and in return we expect from them to be more responsible and honest on their side and be on our side to get out of this bewilderment because it weakens our immunity and corona dominates as a result. Dr. Khizer Hayat Bhatti from University of Gujrat said that do take care of internal and external cleanliness and be punctual. He quoted a beautiful saying of Hazrat Ali (R.A)

Associate Professor Mrs. Rukhsana Gul appreciated Students’ struggle and admired the efforts of organizers Ms. Saima Imran and Ms. Adeela Farooq making the online exhibition a success. At the end, Dr. Khizer Hayat Bhatti announced position holders and e-certificates were presented to the honorable speaker and jury member. Head of Botany department Dr. Zarrin Fatima Rizvi said that we can find solution of any difficulty from Tibb-e- Nabwi (S.A.W). We should act upon Islamic rules. A number of other respected faculty members also contributed to the event. It was an informative program and such programs should be organized on and off to enhance student learning. Govt. College Women University has a huge share in District’s collective efforts for promotion of Covid-19 awareness drive and this event was another major achievement in this regard. More such events may be organized in collaboration with multiple departments of university in which medium of communication might be made more interactive. Apart from presentations; quizzes, various interactive games and question answer sessions can also be arranged for further participation on part of the students.
