It publishes Original research work, Review articles, Short Communications, Case Reports, etc. in all disciplines of Biological Sciences including: Cell biology, structural biology developmental biology, entomology, parasitology, fisheries, marine biology, molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry, toxicology, biotechnology, biodiversity, plant biology, microbiology, environmental biology, bioinformatics, etc.

All manuscripts must be submitted at mailing address:[email protected]. Manuscripts must be written in US English by using Times New Roman writing style. Font size should be 12 typewritten on A4 paper size with 1ʺ margin from left and right side and double spaced throughout the manuscript. Page numbering should be at the top right corner and line number must be in continuation.

First page/ title page:

Manuscript’s first page must consist of title of manuscript, initial and surname of authors, institution’s name and address. If co-author is other than mentioned author’s name, than complete name and address of corresponding author must be mentioned clearly. Each author must be identified by putting superscript number and corresponding author must be designated by an asterisk. Type of manuscript must be clearly mentioned on upper left corner of first page. Type of manuscript can be short communication, full-length article, review article or case report. All content of manuscript (text, figures or tables) must be in only one file of MS Word, but figures or tables must be compiles at the end of text content.

Potential reviewers:

While the submission of manuscript, potential reviewer’s (in relevant field) names, designations, institution’s name and address, official postal addresses, fax/ telephone numbers and official mailing address must be mentioned on a separate sheet/ MS Word file. Three reviewers must be mentioned, one foreigner and other two should be indigenous.

Review article:

Review article must address articles related to subject matter. References of books cannot be addressed because books are already a review. Abstract should be limited to 300 words. Review article must contain introduction, text body with suitable headings and a detailed conclusion. Introduction must clearly describe the significance of subject matter and should be comprehensive. Original and valid published data should support the review article and words should not exceed from 6,500 including references.

Original full-length article:

Must be limited up to 30 references and 8 tables/ figures and 5000 word. Abstract must contain a comprehensive account of objectives, method applied in study, important results and main conclusion of study. 5-7 key words must be mention at the end of abstract. Data of manuscript should be divided into Introduction, Methodology, Results, Discussion, Conclusion, Acknowledgment and bibliography.

Short communication:

Should be limited to 10 references and 2,000 words. Abstract must not be exceeded from 150 words and must contain a brief and comprehensive objective of conducted study, methodology, important results and conclusions. Text might be divided into headings of Introduction, Methodology and Results & Discussion. Only 3 tables and figures can be added.

Case report:

should be limited to 150 words of abstract and 2000 words including 8-10 references. Following sections might be included: Introduction (describing that why case has been reported containing references of previous related reports), History of case, Clinical Examination and Postmortem results, Diagnosis and differential diagnosis, method of treatment, discussion and bibliography. 3 table/ figures can be added.

References:

closely relevant published data should be used for references and citations. Intext references can be cited as: Mushtaq (2013) or (Mushtaq, 2013); if two authors Qureshi and Tanveer (2009) or (Qureshi and Tanveer, 2009). If more than two authors are in citied paper than use the surname of 1st author and other authors will be mentioned as et al., e.g., Qureshi et al. (2019), or (Qureshi et al., 2019). If more than two references are cited in text than arrange them year wise ascending order e.g., (Maalik et al., 2019; Batool et al., 2020). At the end of manuscript references must be sort A-Z alphabetically and references should be typewritten as:

  • Qureshi AW, Khan Z, Khan L, Mansoor A and Minhas R. (2019). Prevalence of Malaria, Typhoid and Co-Infection in District Dir (Lower), Pakistan. Biosci. J., 35 (1): 317-325.
  • Qureshi AW and Tanveer A. (2009). Seroprevalence of fasciolosis in humans and buffaloes in some areas of Punjab, Pakistan. Pak. J. Sci., 61(2):91-96.

Book references:

Due to restricted accessibility of books, citing references of books, monographs, proceedings or thesis will not be encouraged. But if there is necessity to cite a book then it must contain: author(s) or editor(s), year of publication, title, edition, Publisher(s), country of publication and starting and last page numbers of the relevant chapter, as given below:

  • Strunk Jr. W and White EB. (2000). The Elements of Style, 4th ed., Longman, New York. Pp. 340-346.

Figures:

Figures should be present at the last of text content and should not be present in manuscript text. Colored figures will be published online.

Tables:

Number of tables must be kept minimum and consist of only important content. All tables must be arranged in sequence at the end of manuscript text by using Arabis numbers. References of tables must be present in text content of manuscript and all tables must contain its self-explanatory and brief title. Repetition of data in the tables and text or in tables and figures/ graphs will not be accepted.

Symbols and Abbreviations:

Journal’s policy regarding the symbols and units is according to the System International Symbols. All abbreviations should be mentioned in full form when used first time in the text.

Scientific names:

Use scientific names of animals and plants with local names. Scientific names of species should be in Italics and should be written in full when used first time in the manuscript. In Title and abstract there should be full scientific names of species.

Proofs:

After satisfactory revision and acceptance, the manuscripts are typeset. Via E-mail, proofs for correction will be sent to authors, which are mandatory to be returned within 72 hours. Some minor changes or corrections are possible at this step.

Reprints:

All articles will be published online and available on journal website for download in PDF. Prints will not be provided in hard form.

Submission is open currently

Blind review policy will be adopted by Journal. Management of PRJBS will try to get reviews of submitted manuscript received as early as possible. Reviewers are usually requested to do review as soon as possible, but Journal’s management will not part of late review process. Only those manuscripts will be accepted and consider for publication that have not been published earlier or is not in process of publishing somewhere else. All mentioned authors should agree with content and type of manuscript that is being submitted for publication. All authors are equally accountable for the originality and validity of content mentioned in manuscript. Content submitted for publication in the journal will be supposed to evaluate the similarity index with other published data and different internet sources by applying appropriate software. Manuscripts that have 20% similarity index are apt to be revised/ rejected. PRJBS assumes that conducted studies should be according to human and animal welfare laws of the country. PRJBS will restrain all copyrights of accepted manuscripts for publication. The rejection or acceptance decision by Editorial Board will be finalized and that decision cannot be challenged elsewhere.
