Career Brief:

Dr. Noreen Khalid obtained her Ph.D. in Botany (Ecology) in 2016 from the University of Agriculture Faisalabad Pakistan with a fully funded Higher Education Commission’s Indigenous merit scholarship. She performed her research as a research fellow from the University of California, Santa Barbara, United States in her Ph.D. with Higher Education Commission’s International Fellowship (IRSIP). She was appointed as Assistant professor of Botany in 2016 at GC Women University Sialkot.
Dr. Noreen Khalid has expertise in Ecology and Environmental Biology. The more specific areas of her research are soil biogeochemistry, climate change, heavy metals, microplastics, emerging environmental pollutants, wetlands ecology, phytoremediation, environmental modeling & management, and the use of phytotechnologies to reduce environmental pollutants. She has represented Pakistan on several International Platforms. She has published several research papers studying the effects of environmental pollutants on wild vegetation, soils, and ecosystems.
