Finishing School is an institution that is meant to polish the outward and inward personality of a girl, to stable her confidence level and to groom her skills through proper training in certain courses. The initiative of Finishing School, at GCWUS, has been taken by worthy Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Farhat Saleemi who envisioned ethical, social and educational grooming of the students of university in order to compete with upcoming challenges of modern world. Prof. Naila Arshad, Chairperosn English department has taken the responsibility for Finishing School at GCWUS in 2015 along with her team and the school has been working successfully at GCWUS since 2015 for the students of outgoing/ final semesters.
The team of Finishing School arranged an orientation for the students of 8 th semester and M.A. 4 th semester, 2017 on 4 th May, 2017 in auditorium, separately for the students of Social sciences and Natural sciences. The orientation started with the recitation of Holy Quaran and Naat. Then Director Finishing School Prof. Naila Arshad gave detailed introduction of courses, time table and team members of Finishing School that is officially going to be started on 5 th May, 2017. She, further, emphasized on the significance of Finishing School for students in order to be more confident, presentable, skilled and well-mannered. She appreciated the cooperation of Heads of departments and Incharges of 8 th semesters. Moreover, she shared the idea of Preliminary School with students that is going to be started soon for the students of first semester.
