College Women University Sialkot (GCWUS) signed an MOU with Sialkot Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SCCI) Sialkot Pakistan for the following benefits of both parties on the mutually agreed terms. 1. GCWUS may offer: a) Onsite and Online Training & Development for capacity building of industry workers. b) Actively participate in nominated departmental committee meetings of SCCI for positive interventions. c) Provide solutions of industry problems through research & development. d) Support in designing the city wise campaigns for awareness as per the directions of concerned ministries/ authority es. e) Providing skilled human resource through Chamber to associated industries. f) Provide support in making Sialkot Clean and Green. g) Provide support in environmental protection through designing awareness campaigns and by bringing in scientific methods according to the best practices. h) To write case studies about the successful businesses of Sialkot. i) Include industrial nominations referred by Chamber on the relevant discussion forums/ platforms/ conferences etc. j) Any other mutually agreed initiative. 2. SCCI may offer: a) To arrange joint meetings of the corporate sector entities of Pakistan and GCWUS to discuss the opportunities of enhanced industry – academia relationship. b) To assist in need-based scholarships for the underprivileged students (duly verified by GCWUS) as per the SOPs of Departmental Committee on Education of SCCI. c) Support approved research and academic development processes through approved projects duly presented by GCWUS (faculty, staff and students). d) Support approved joint or coordinated scientific research and technological development programs in agreed areas. e) Support in providing access to industrial knowledge and data as per its availability and due publication in our reports. f) Provide opportunities to faculty, staff, and students to participate in events/ programmes hosted by SCCI or its members. g) Support in arranging industrial visits for the faculty, staff and students for applied knowledge and real time learning. h) Assist in internships, placements & training of faculty, staff and students.     24th March, 2022 Govt. College Women University Sialkot (GCWUS) signed an MOU with Social Welfare Academics & Training for Pakistan, (S.W.A.a.T) and IC Educational (Cambridge) Ltd.     17th August, 2021Govt. College Women University Sialkot (GCWUS) signed an MOU with World Wildlife Fund (WWF). It was agreed that engagement of both parties will primarily be centered on presentation efforts and research support. This MoU assures cooperation of both parties for sharing of information and opportunities to allow them to contribute to\yard each other’s initiatives and activities. Moreover, the MoU will enable both parties to take a lead in issues pertaining to expertise in their respective niches.     09th August, 2021Govt. College Women University Sialkot (GCWUS) signed an MOU with Social Welfare Department of Government of Punjab.     19th May, 2021 Govt. College Women University Sialkot (GCWUS) signed an MOU with PMAS Arid Agriculture University, Rawalpindi. Both parties mutually agreed to cooperate with each other and share lab and workshop facilities, conducting beekeeping trainings, installation of beekeeping units and production of wooden and stainless steel beekeeping equipment.     10th February, 2021 Govt. College Women University Sialkot (GCWUS) signed an MOU with Fatima Jinnah Women University, Rawalpindi (FJWU). A delegation led by their Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Saima Hamid, visited GCWUS on the invitation of the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Rukhsana Kausar. Director ORIC, Manager Industrial Linkages and Manager Trainings of FJWU also accompanied the visiting Vice Chancellor. Both parties mutually agreed to cooperate in the areas mutual interest relevant to but not limited to Science and Technology, Natural and Social Sciences and student & Faculty exchange programmes with mutual understanding. The Vice Chancellor FJWU also planted a plant in front of the admin block to support the Prime Minister’s vision of Green Pakistan.     11th June, 2018 GC Women University Sialkot signed an MOU with Sialkot Tannery Zone Guarantee(s) Pvt. Ltd. (STAGL) in their Kashmir Road head office. Both parties agreed to collaborate in the areas of research and development for environmental safety measures to be taken by leather industries of Sialkot to be included in Leather Working Group (LWG).     5th April, 2018 GC Women University signed an MOU with JMS Tradewell Pvt. Ltd., a premium leather apparels tanning and manufacturing company in Sialkot. Both parties will strive to superimpose the existing efforts by the company management in reverse engineering of the imported chemicals as well as enhancing the quality of in use local chemicals for tanning which will ultimately observe increase in exports as well. As a university, GCUWS can truly support company management for research and development in the areas of leather product development, improving chemical processes and quality enhancement of the existing processes. This collaboration will also be helpful to the company management in building and sustaining the company’s corporate social responsibility image by creating social awareness campaigns in the community about sensitivity of management towards the associated health and environmental hazards and available mechanisms to tackle them. GCWUS will surely assist the company to extend its relations with Leather Working Group (LWG) by establishing research based methodologies for purifying the waste carrying chromium and other health hazardous chemicals during the tanning process other than doing the same afterwards which will surely reduce the volatility waste exponentially then ever.

    12th December, 2017 The Institutional Agreement is drawn up between Intellectual Property Organization of Pakistan (IPO – Pakistan) and Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan and Government College Women University Sialkot (GCWUS) in HEC, Islamabad to establish and develop Technology and Innovation Support Centers (TISCs) network.     The project aims to provide an enabling IP environment for technology scouting, adaptation and innovation in Pakistan. Specifically, the project is expected to encourage the incremental and economical innovations at Universities and Research Institutes by enhancing the institutional capacity to effectively exploit the high quality technical information present in patent as well as scientific and technical literature databases.
    A Technology Innovation Support Center (TISC) will provide following basic level services and additional services according to the need of GCWUS.

    Basic Level Services

    1. Provide access to Patent and/or non-patent literature databases;
    2. Provide services on patent search & analysis;
    3. Provide training on access & use of patent information.

    Additional Services

    1. Provide advice and support to the inventors in drafting patent applications and its filing;
    2. Provide general knowledge on national IP laws and international IP systems/procedures;
    3. Provide advice on the IP aspects of Commercialization;
    4. Provide advice on licensing.

    December 12, 2017 GCWUS signed MOU with Security and Exchange Commission SECP Islamabad. Dean Administrative and Management Sciences, Prof. Dr. Hafiz Khalil Ahmad had the honors of signing the MOU on the behalf of the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Farhat Saleemi. This will provide our graduating students with an opportunity to get practical knowledge about managing financial investment in a safe and prudent way before entering the practical life.

    18th March, 2016 The MOU was signed between Pakistan Study Centre of Punjab University and GC Women University, Sialkot. MOU was signed for exploring joint educational opportunities and research activities. Under this MoU, both institutes would have access to each other’s libraries, books, data and publications.     In order to establish mutual collaboration between the Educational Institutions and the Rescue 1122, Punjab Emergency Services Rescue 1122, Sialkot and GC Women University, Sialkot endorses this Memorandum of Understanding and mutually agreed to share knowledge and experience. A close and meaningful cooperation between Rescue 1122 and GC University would encourage quick and correct response from the students in the university in case of any emergency, enhance level of awareness of teachers/students in particular and their associated community in general, this will lead to community safety and especially to formulate effective emergency response system. This Memorandum will remain effective for Ten years after it is signed in by both of the parties and will be extendable by the expiration of the tenure.

    Prof. Dr. Razia Sultana, Vice Chancellor, Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University and Prof Dr. Farhat Saleemi GC Women University, Sialkot signed MoU on August 27, 2015. Mr. Parvez Khattak, Chief Minister, KPK graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Mr. Mushtaq Ghani, Minister for Higher Education was also present on the occasion.
    The main aim of the consortium was the promotion of education and inculcation of the research culture among female students. The main areas of the MOU were.

    1. Joint Research collaborations and joint publications of scientific papers and educational materials resulting from the collaboration within program cooperation.
    2. Joint courses, graduate and undergraduate student mobility such as internships and fellowships.
    3. Exchange of Faculty, trainees and staff as appropriate.
    4. Participation in, and co-hosting of lectures, meetings, seminars, symposia and conferences.
    5. Exchange of materials, publications and other information, within limits of legal rules and regulations.

    19th August 2015, Islamabad
    GC Women University signed an MOU with Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU), Islamabad. AIOU will soon set up an ‘entrepreneurship center’ on its main campus to help guide students undertake business ventures.
    The center will also encourage young researchers to come up with innovative ideas for the development of industrial sector as well as set up their own businesses. Students of the two universities will be allowed to use their respective labs, libraries and other academic infrastructure to boost their knowledge and expertise in relevant fields.

    19thAugust 2015, Islamabad
    The Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC) and Government College Women University Sialkot (GCWUS) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for cooperation to strengthen scientific infrastructure. According to the MoU, both the organizations would pursue programmes of scientific, technical and academic collaboration for the exchange of ideas, skills and techniques on problems of national interest. They would jointly supervise MS and PhD scholars, exchange and train faculty, students and supervisors and would exchange technical personnel and material. The MoU envisages joint and coordinated scientific research and technological development programmes in selected areas besides holding of joint conferences, seminars, symposia and workshops at national and international level. The two organizations would have access to each other’s knowledge, data, library and labs and would also share and exchange scientific information, research materials and internships. The MoU further states that internees of GCWU would be facilitated at PARC laboratories for their research projects while GCWU would facilitate PARC scientists on research activities in Sialkot. Moreover, both the organizations would disseminate results of studies through joint publications.
